The first two days of my internship at The NAT have been great. I started this week in Botany. I have been helping the head scientist of Botany with various tasks. Their collection is going through a bug infestation so we have had to move the collection to a large walk-in freezer that the departments share in order to get rid of the problem. I have also been mounting several species of plants onto paper that includes information on the specific plant. This is done in order to easily store data and to be able to upload the data on the species online for the public. Tomorrow will be my last day in Botany and I will be learning how to enter the data into the system along with whatever else needs to be done!
