The Dance Dance Re-Volt-ution Project
During this project, our class learned about electricity and circuits. We made dance pads that have a light bulb on it that lights up when someone steps on the pad. To make the light bulb work we had to attach wires to batteries which are connected to conductors/metal that can carry power from one wire to another. We used foil as our conductors. We had to use foil because the pads are made of cardboard which can not carry energy, otherwise known as a insulator. When someone steps on the pad, a conductor touches another conductor, closing the circuit which allows energy to move from the batteries to the bulb, making it light. We learned all of this in our prototype process. The end product of this project is to have four working dance pads and to make up a dance to go along with the pads as shown in the picture below. We then had a teacher perform the dance in front of our peers as a competition. The competition went very well and my group won best Choreography. I also added the video of the dance below.
